Business ethics and compliance guide our company’s behavior, relationships and growth.
As we are a company on the path of expansion, and because we have a close relationship with our stakeholders, today more than ever, it is vital to promote business ethics and compliance and act with integrity.
Our code of conduct
Ambu complies with all applicable international laws and regulations and abide by international industry code such as MedTech Europe and Advamed as a minimum standard. To help ensure uphold Ambu’s reputation as a company with a high level of integrity and trustworthiness, we have developed a Code of Conduct for our employees as well as for our business partners.
Our compliance management system
The Ambu Compliance Management System provides a framework for compliant behavior and consists of eight specific elements. All compliance programs in Ambu are developed and implemented in line with the compliance management system and the system provides a tool for assessing the progress and measure the level of maturity of these elements and the programs.
The system allows us to continuously monitor and evaluate our compliance efforts and ensure that we adhere to all the standards set for us in healthcare systems around the world and that there is consistency and authenticity in the way we work and what we provide.
The system is developed in line with the most important national and international guidelines and standards, and it meets the requirements of industry specific and latest updated enforcement guidelines.

Business Partners Integrity Due Diligence Process
Ambu’s value of “Team Up” is our North Star of working together with external stakeholders and business partners in our quest towards developing innovative solutions to save lives and improve patient care. We strive to conduct business with organisations and individuals that share Ambu’s commitment to ethical standards, local laws and regulations, international frameworks, and that conduct business in an ethical, legal and socially responsible manner.
We expect our business partners to comply with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as Ambu’s Code of Conduct for Business Partners. Ambu’s business partners must conduct their business in line with internationally recognized and endorsed standards in key areas such as anti-corruption, human rights, labour conditions, sustainability, business ethics and compliance. Failure to fulfil these requirements may result in discontinuation of the business relationship.
At Ambu, we also conduct a due diligence review of the relevant business partners in scope, ensuring that before an agreement or transaction with a business partner is entered into, an assessment of the integrity of the business partner is made.
How it works
- The process of business partner integrity due diligence is an essential step in ensuring and attesting to the fact that Ambu and its third parties carry out reputable, qualified, and sustainable business.
- The process takes the form of a questionnaire, which is to be filled out by the local Ambu’s representative responsible for the interaction with business partners in the scope, a so called “Integrity Due Diligence Questionnaire”.
- The due diligence process will be executed by Ambu, with profile reviews and gathering the information of the business partner.
- Ambu will get in touch with the business partner when necessary and if they need more details or clarification.
- The due diligence process is repeated depending on the results of risk profiling. The business partner must be reassessed every 2-3 years.
The process consists of six elements

Sponsorship and donations
Making charitable donations and non-commercial sponsorships is part of a long-standing tradition of supporting the communities in which we operate and of supporting the communities that do not directly benefit from our primary business activities.
Charitable donations and non-commercial sponsorship mean provision of cash, equipment, Ambu or relevant third-party product, for exclusive use for charitable or philanthropic purposes and/or to benefit a charitable or philanthropic cause. Donations and non-commercial sponsorship are made only to duly registered or accredited independent nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) or not-for-profit charities, thereby excluding governmental, political, and religious entities.
When assessing what projects to support, we focus on the projects that have a lasting and sustainable impact on society and on projects that are driven by locally established organizations with endorsements from the local authorities. Decision to donate will not be based on any past, present or potential purchase of Ambu products, nor function as a reward to favor customers or business partners. Donations are not made with the primary purpose to create publicity.
To ensure that donations from Ambu are not based on personal preference or bias, all donations from any Ambu entity should be approved by a local donation committee. No single person may approve donations. Special rules apply in relation to donations made to healthcare professionals, other government officials and not-for profit hospitals. Donations are based on MedTech Europe guidelines and WHO’s guidelines for donating medical equipment.
